Check software applications. Double click the icon to open the application.	The software will open quickly and I will be able to use the software in the way I intend to. Check and make sure the default folder settings are correct. Open a folder and check everything is in the right place.	All the settings and contents of the folder should be in the correct place.	The contents were all in the correct place.	No action required.
Make sure desktop shortcuts go the right place. Open them.	The shortcut will direct me to the relevant programme or application.	I opened the volume control shortcut and it took me to the right application.	No action was required.
Check the right drivers are installed. Check the relevant peripherals are working.	When I send a word document to the printer it will print as displayed in the ‘print preview’.	The document printed as it was displayed in the ‘print preview’.	No action was required.
Ensure the correct paper sizes are set for printing. Check the paper sizes in the printer.	Paper sizes will be in the relevant drawers and loaded correctly.	The printer was not loaded with any plain white A4 paper.	I restocked the relevant drawer with plain white A4 paper.
Make sure menu options work as intended. Click on an option on the menu.	The option should take me to the correct application/software.	The option I clicked on took me to the correct application.	No action was required.
Check the correct date and time were set. Cross-check them against another device.	The time and date on both devices will be the same (I checked it against my phone).	The time on my computer was behind the time on my phone.	Cross- checked with a third device and changed the time on the computer as it was behind.
